We have an exciting opportunity for a Goods Inwards / Stores Person in Southampton.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the receipt, inspection, storage, and control of materials, parts, and equipment supporting manufacturing and site operations. Ensures accurate stock records, safe storage, and timely availability of materials to internal teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries
  • Check goods against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Book in stock and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Carry out regular cycle counts and stock checks
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
  • Store materials safely and maintain organised storage areas
  • Issue stock and maintain full traceability of movements
  • Report shortages, damages, and delivery issues
  • Support Health & Safety compliance in all stores activities

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Experience in goods inwards, stores, warehouse, or stock control (manufacturing/electronics preferred)
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and stock/inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisation and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems
  • Understanding of components and correct storage practices
