Job Description
Overview
- We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Electronics and Hardware Design Engineers with a strong emphasis on hardware development and a solid foundation in embedded systems software.
- The successful candidate will enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and delivering high-quality, reliable electronic solutions.
- You'll work on a variety of dynamic projects and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business.
Key Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in hardware design from concept through to production
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Broad knowledge of electronic systems and technologies
- Skilled in producing high-quality technical documentation and reports
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbalAdaptable to a range of project types and customer expectations
- Full UK driving licence (occasional site visits required)
Essential Skills
- Commercial experience in electronic product design
- Mixed analogue and digital circuit design with microcontrollers
- Schematic capture (preferably using Altium Designer)Methodical and structured design approach
- Experience with FMEA and design validation processes
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills
- Project planning and time management capabilities
- Knowledge of compliance, testing, and product approval processes
Desirable Skills
- Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design
- Experience with 8, 16, 32, and 64-bit microprocessors
- Understanding of EMC design considerations
- Embedded programming experience or strong awareness
