Design: Own hardware technical design from initial concept and architecture through to a fully manufacturable product.
Circuit & Board
Level: Execute circuit design, component selection, worst-case analysis, and simulation.
Lab
Work: Conduct board bring-up, testing, measurement, and fault finding.
Collaboration & Compliance: Guide PCB layout engineers (setting constraints); design for DFM, DFT, EMC, safety, and qualification.
Client & Commercial: Interpret client specs, flag risks, provide technical effort estimates for quotes, and defend design choices in technical reviews.
Mentorship: Act as a technical reference point for junior engineers.
Must-Have Requirements (Essential) Extensive commercial background taking designs from concept to production Mixed Analogue and Digital Design with Micro-controllers.
Schematic Capture (Altium specifically).
Strong lab capabilities (fault finding, measurement).
Desirables: Power & Processing: Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design; 8/16/32/64-Bit Microprocessors.
