Digital Designer
Location: Cambridge or Bristol (3 days onsite, 2 remote)

A client of mine is looking for Digital Designer, for an initial 12-month contract basis. This role will see you contribute to the development of next-generation AI compute technology, playing a key part in the design and delivery of high-performance silicon.
You will work within the Design team, supporting the creation of high-quality micro-architecture specifications and RTL implementations, collaborating closely with teams across Physical Design, Verification, and DFT.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and implement RTL based on micro-architecture
-Collaborate across multi-site teams to ensure cohesive delivery and issue resolution
-Contribute to design infrastructure, methodologies, and EDA tool flows
-Perform block and chip-level design checks: Lint, Synthesis, CDC, RDC, Timing Closure, Coverage
-Work closely with cross-functional teams including Verification, Physical Design, and DFT
Required Skills & Experience
-Strong experience in digital design with hands-on RTL development
-Solid understanding of SystemVerilog or VHDL
-Familiarity with EDA tools and digital design flows
-Experience writing scripts (Python, Tcl) for design automation and issue resolution
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams
-Ability to manage workload effectively in a hybrid working environment
Desirable Skills
-Experience in processor or application-specific block design
-High-speed interface integration (e.g., PCIe, DDR)
-Arithmetic pipeline or floating-point unit design
-Third-party IP integration
-Synthesis, STA, and DFT knowledge
-Exposure to project planning or team leadership
