We are currently looking for a Trainee CAD Designer to join a growing engineering design team, supporting the creation of electrical schematics, panel designs, and technical drawings within a structured training environment.

Role Summary

As a Trainee CAD Designer, you will learn to produce schematic drawings in line with company standards while developing core skills in electrical panel design. You will support the creation, updating, and revision of technical drawings, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, version control, and change logs, while building knowledge of industry standards, components, and safety requirements through structured training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce 2D schematic drawings in line with company standards
  • Assist with electrical panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings
  • Update and maintain drawing documentation and revision control
  • Support change management and drawing updates
  • Participate in full in-house training on products and systems
  • Develop understanding of company products and their functionality
  • Ensure all drawings are accurate, clearly labelled, and compliant with standards

Qualifications & Training
  • T-Level (Level 3) Electrical & Electronic Engineering OR BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Pathway) OR equivalent qualification
Experience
  • No prior experience required (full in-house training provided)
