We have had an exciting opportunity become available for a Electronics Test Technician in Southampton to play a key role in testing and developing cutting‑edge electronic products while gaining hands‑on experience and career growth opportunities.
Location: Southampton
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri 9:00am – 5:30pm) – overtime as required
Salary: Negotiable
Overview
We are seeking a motivated Electronics Test Technician to join our Totton site, supporting production testing for Earth Data products. Full product training will be provided. As you gain experience, you will have opportunities to support new product development, creating test rigs and assisting development colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct production testing and fault‑finding to component level.
- Assemble, wire, and test digital and analogue electronics.
- Read and interpret schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Use standard electronics test equipment (oscilloscope, voltmeter, function generator, etc.).
- Solder SMT 0603 and through‑hole components.
- Collaborate with development engineers on new product testing.
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Strong enthusiasm for electronics.
- Knowledge of digital & analogue electronics.
- Component‑level troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read schematics and use test equipment.
- Competent in SMT and THT soldering.
Desirable Skills
- Interest in software development.
- Experience programming in C/C++.
- Familiarity with Linux command line and BASH scripting.
