This client are innovators within the High Speed domain focused on the development of Mixed Signal ICs and systems for a wide range of products in the data communication domain. They are searching for an experienced validation engineer to join their team of experts in Bristol.
Role overview
- Performing laboratory-based RF testing with a good working knowledge of both high-speed digital semiconductor testing and optical component testing and a strong fundamental lab-based test engineering knowledge.
- Participate in new product design meetings and drive test feature development as required for the successful evaluation of new products.
- Assist in designing the validation solution development for new products (software/hardware/documentation).
- Identification of bench-top test equipment for the validation of new products.
- Generation of test equipment automation software using Python or Labview.
- Collaborate with designers, product, test and applications engineers.
- Participate in validation review meetings.
- Creation of validation reports.
- Testing of high speed optical components, ICs or modules.
- Taking high speed measurements in a lab environment on products operating at data rates of 10Gbit/s and above.
- Utilising existing knowledge of high speed signal integrity for schematic entry/layout using Altium PCB tools.
Minimum Qualification
- BSc/MSc in EE/ECE or HNC/HND with 6 years relevant work experience.
- Able to work under pressure in a highly paced, dynamic R&D environment.
- Excellent team-player who positively interacts and shares knowledge.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capable of self-study/training/learning.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Innovative and creative with attention to detail.
