As a Semiconductor & Optical Test Lab Technician, you’ll support the assembly and maintenance of evaluation boards used for internal validation, customer testing, and trade show demonstrations. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of a dynamic lab environment—including equipment calibration and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Assemble evaluation boards for validation and customer use, including:
- Ball and wedge wire bonding
- Surface‑mount soldering and connector installation
- Pick‑and‑place of silicon die and BGA components
- Optical component alignment
- Design and 3D printing of mechanical components
To be considered for the role, you will need the following:
- BSc/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Hands‑on experience working in a technical or laboratory setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to carefully follow build procedures
- Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience assembling high‑speed optical and electrical PCBs
- Familiarity with equipment calibration cycles and service processes
- Experience in labs supporting testing of high‑speed semiconductor components
- Experience managing component and equipment inventories using databases
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook)
