We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Design Team Leader in Southampton.
About the Role
As a CAD Design Team Leader, you will lead and develop a team of Electrical CAD Designers, ensuring high-quality panel designs that meet industry and company standards. You will manage workloads, delegate projects, provide solutions for customer needs, and mentor staff. You will also assist with recruitment and induction, monitor team progress, and suggest process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and guide the CAD design team
- Plan workloads, delegate tasks, and meet deadlines
- Uphold company standards and procedures
- Train and mentor staff, including inductions for new members
- Assess performance, provide feedback, and implement team goals
- Participate in audits and suggest process/design improvements
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Level 3 People Management Certificate
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or CAD Technology
- Experience managing a small team in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to produce accurate, compliant technical drawings
- Proven customer service and staff engagement skills
Desirable:
- Level 5 People Management Certificate
- Understanding of electrical/mechanical principles (ENATS50-18 & 50-19, NGTS2.19)
- MS Project Management experience
- Experience assessing and developing team performance
