South Devon College is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to play a key role in ensuring High Needs Learners can fully access the curriculum, achieve within their study programme, and participate confidently in college life. Based within our Construction department, you will support a variety of practical learning activities across multiple trades, working closely with teaching staff in our workshops. Each learner's support needs and outcomes are outlined in their Individual Learning Plan, and you will be central in helping them meet these goals, providing tailored, practical, and motivational support that enables every learner to thrive.
We are looking for someone who brings both the right skills and the right approach to supporting our learners. You will hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade A - C (or equivalent Level 2) or be willing to complete these qualifications within your first year of employment. You'll also have proven experience in a learning support or coaching role, demonstrating your ability to motivate and guide others effectively. Above all, you will be approachable, patient, and committed to helping learners develop their confidence and independence as they progress through their programme.
