IT Hardware Deployment Engineer across various customer locations in the Midlands. Vehicle Provided. Initially 5 months with a view to extend. Inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving & Physical Requirements: You will be required to drive a Mini Van and handle heavy equipment. Previous experience in a similar physical role is advantageous.
- Customer-Facing & Time Management Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills are essential. You must be able to work effectively under pressure, manage your time efficiently during deployments, and multitask to balance competing priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: You must demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and communication when engaging with end users and stakeholders at all levels, including management, directors, and VIP personnel, with a consistent commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Documentation & Sign-Off: Meticulous attention to detail is required when managing sign-off processes and returns documentation to ensure full compliance and traceability.
- Ticketing Systems: You will be expected to utilise ticketing systems to track deployment progress, manage and escalate issues, and oversee legacy returns. Relevant ticketing platforms include DMS BMC Helix (for BAU tickets).
- Office Applications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and SharePoint, is required for maintaining accurate deployment records, including Engineer Update Sheets and customer deployment Issue Logs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams via Microsoft Teams and Outlook. Key stakeholder groups include the IT TechBar, IT Hardware team, O365 team, Deployment Support team, and Lifecycle Hub Team.
- Technical Awareness: You will be working with a variety of laptop and desktop form factors as part of the deployment process. A working knowledge of Software Centre (for checking and performing software installations), along with a basic understanding of IP addressing, Group Policy update, and Device asset tags, is expected. As part of this role, you will also be required to perform the following device setup tasks:
- Setup Zscaler and RSA Token for Secure VPN Access
- Map printers and Network Drives
- Setup Teams and Emails
- Backup and Sync Browser Bookmarks, OneNote, and Sticky Notes
- Setup and Sync OneDrive for Data Migration and Backups
Meetings & Escalation: You may be required to participate in weekly team meetings, proactively flag urgent issues in a timely manner, and contribute possible solutions in collaboration with the key stakeholders.
