Location: Battersea area, London (Hybrid – Tue/Wed/Thu onsite, Mon/Fri remote)

Contract: 12–18 months (with possible extension)

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer / SDET to join a fast-paced team, working as the sole QA owner within the function. This role requires someone who can operate independently, take full ownership of testing strategy, and drive the transition from manual testing to automation.

The ideal candidate is developer-leaning, with strong experience in test automation, API testing, and scripting (Python preferred), combined with solid communication skills to collaborate across teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Own and execute the end-to-end QA strategy as the only QA in the team
  • Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts
  • Perform API testing and validation, ensuring data consistency and reliability
  • Identify inconsistencies, troubleshoot issues, and apply holistic system thinking
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, etc.)
  • Support the migration from manual testing to automation
  • Validate product catalog and data flows across systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and tools
Requirements
  • English level: B2+ or higher
  • Strong hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TOSCA)
  • Solid experience in API testing (REST, Postman, or similar tools)
  • Strong scripting skills in Python (preferred) or Java
  • Experience building or working with automation frameworks
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of QA
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
