The Microsoft UK Public Safety and National Security (PS&NS) business focuses on partnering with our Government customers and industry partners to achieve strategic goals. PS&NS sites within the UK Public Sector business, and covers our Defence, Policing, Justice & National Security customers. This team is responsible for providing a differentiated Customer experience for these unique customers, delivering solutions that result in strategic business outcomes and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.

As a Strategic Account Technology Strategist, you will be responsible for designing and driving leading edge technology initiatives and transformation roadmaps in partnership UK Defence customers, which accelerate your customer’s desired business outcomes whilst achieving Microsoft’s business objectives.

You will work in close partnership with a Strategic Account Executive, leveraging your large, multi-functional v-team across the breadth of the Microsoft product portfolio (Cloud & AI Platforms, AI Business Solutions and Security Solutions) and the ecosystem of relevant Microsoft Partner offerings. You will build and grow your network of technology decision makers and influences within your customers and position industry-relevant solutions to help the customers adopt and embrace AI technologies at pace and scale. You will have a strong track‑record of driving innovative digital solutions to achieve customers’ business objectives and achieving account growth targets. This role will give you the opportunity to combine your technology and customer‑centricity to deliver AI, Digital and Security solutions to accelerate your customers’ transformation vision and to ultimately become their trusted technology advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Digital, AI and Security Strategy Leadership – you will engage consultatively with the customer to capture business objectives and craft a technology roadmap encompassing Cloud, AI Business Solutions and Security which shapes the customer’s digital strategy.
  • Technology Relevant Trusted Seller – you will be consistently curious and able to harness the breadth of your technical, operations and/or delivery experience to become the customer’s trusted technology advisor in support of maximising their business value and supporting Microsoft’s business growth. You will challenge customers’ assumptions with constructive dialogue about their business and role of innovative technology such as AI.
  • Technology Leadership – your pan‑portfolio perspective will require you to lead and co‑ordinate Microsoft’s technical engagement with the customer. You will drive alignment across Microsoft technical specialists in Cloud & AI Platforms, AI Business Solutions and Security solution areas. And you will engage technical and non‑technical customer stakeholders showcasing how Microsoft solutions align to the customer’s business priorities.
  • Industry Expertise – You will develop deep expertise in how Defence organisations work and the constraints they operate under. You will become adept at navigating complex, federated organisations. You will be accountable for harnessing your understanding of the customer’s technology landscape and crafting Microsoft’s industry relevant solutions that help customers accelerate their transformation.
  • Innovator – You will delivery compelling presentations to inspire the customer to move from ambition to action. You will be accountable for bringing ideas to life – through storytelling, whiteboards and/or prototypes, that help energise the customer to take action.
  • Learning & Development – You will be responsible for continuous learning. Microsoft’s technology advances at pace and you will be accountable for staying up‑to‑date and coaching customers, partners and colleagues as appropriate. In this way, you will become perceived as a de‑facto Chief Technology Officer.

Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering, consulting or selling digital solutions in Enterprise environments
  • Demonstrable experience in making recommendations to and/or collaborating with senior level technology decision makers
  • This role requires a UK citizenable to attain SC and/or DV security clearance
  • Well‑developed verbal, written and visual communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with delivery / governance of Digital Transformation programmes
  • Relevant experience working with highly federated customer environments
  • Relevant experience working with Defence or similarly regulated customer environments
  • Demonstrable experience in driving cloud migrations/datacentre modernisation, Digital/AI adoption and/or cyber security solutions
  • Familiarisation with hyperscale cloud services and/or experience working with Developers (DevOps) or Data Scientists
  • Track‑record of delivering compelling demos and/or building rapid prototypes/proof‑of‑concept solutions
