We’re looking for a Senior Machine Vision Engineer to lead development of real-time image processing and embedded AI models for our visual flame detectors. You’ll work at the intersection of computer vision, embedded systems, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimise real-time vision algorithms in embedded C/C++.
- Work with near-IR camera sensors to classify flame characteristics.
- Integrate fixed, certifiable AI models (no runtime learning).
- Ensure determinism and reproducibility under certification constraints.
- Evaluate and test model performance under varied lighting and scene conditions.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and certification teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in embedded machine vision (C/C++, Linux, image pipelines).
- Hands-on with near-IR, CMOS, or similar imaging systems.
- Knowledge of AI/ML for vision — fixed CNNs, shape tracking, segmentation.
- Understanding of real-time and memory-constrained processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or MSc in Computer Vision, Embedded Systems, or related discipline.
- Experience with safety-critical product development.
- Familiarity with IEC 61508 or other certification-related standards.
