A GMP Cleaning Team Leader vacancy has arisen in our fast-growing company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team.

LOCATION: Oakbank Park Road, Livingston, EH53 0TG

JOB TYPE: Full Time

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday – 6.00am to 2.00pm or 8.00am to 4.00pm (depends on customer requirements)

PAY: £16.85 per hour

JOB PURPOSE: We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our friendly team working in GMP manufacturing environments. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all designated areas as directed using appropriate equipment and/or materials as supplied and providing support to the team members and liaising with the customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working on our client site in Edinburgh leading a small team of GMP cleaners.
  • Completing and documenting routine weekly and monthly cleans of laboratories and laboratory equipment (Bio Safety Cabinet, centrifuges) surfaces and cabinets while always adhering to a GMP standard.
  • Produce GDP (Good Document Practice) Compliant reports and documentation.
  • Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness within assigned areas by ensuring that the relevant work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.
  • Ensure accurate completion of area logbooks as required by SOPs.
  • Ensure regular checks of the equipment and machines used during the working day. Any faults/defects to be reported to the customer.
  • Participate in the Health and Safety Policy of the Company and report any dangers or hazards to the customer.
  • Attend training sessions appertaining to post.
  • Carry out any duties as required.
  • Liaise with other members of the cleaning team, other staff, and customers.

All employees are required to adhere to Quality, Compliance and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and Micronclean procedures applicable to their role. Training will be provided to ensure that the procedures are understood, and responsibilities are defined.

Essential:

  • Previous cleaning experience
  • Must have a good level of written and spoken English
  • General good health
  • Reasonable standard of fitness as job holder on feet for most of the day
  • Prepared to wear full uniform at all times
  • Prepared to work to strict timelines in isolated areas and follow stringent dress codes relevant to GMP
  • Prepared to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed by Line Manager and in accordance with the working instructions / procedures
  • Good standard of IT literacy – Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, regarding ability to support other shift patterns when required
  • Full UK/EU driving licence for a manual vehicle

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience within a similar industry
  • Team worker with a flexible approach
  • Knowledge of COSHH
  • An understanding of GMP and quality systems
  • Good communication skills
  • Machinery skills
  • Previous supervisory/team leader experience
