Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience in cloud engineering, Dev Ops or platform engineering
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS
  • Experience with Terraform and/or AWS CDK
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
  • Understanding of cloud security basics, including IAM, secrets management and secure deployments
  • Experience supporting production systems, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with an eye for detail
  • Desirable: exposure to lakehouse concepts such as S3 and Iceberg
  • Desirable: understanding of data architectures such as medallion
  • Desirable: experience in multi‑account AWS environments
  • Desirable: awareness of governance and working in regulated or data‑sensitive environments

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain platform components using Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and AWS CDK
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for data platforms and services
  • Help deliver lakehouse, ingestion and data serving capabilities
  • Apply security, compliance and governance controls across deployments
  • Monitor platform health, logging and alerting, and resolve issues quickly
  • Support cost optimisation and efficient resource usage
  • Collaborate with Platform, Data Engineering and AI teams to improve ways of working
  • Work closely with engineers and data teams to deliver reliable, secure and scalable solutions

We are hiring a Data Platform Engineer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to help develop and operate a modern, governed data platform powering analytics, AI and data‑driven decision making.
