Are you looking for a new opportunity to join a leading telematics company, providing solutions to many household names, such as McLaren, Tesco, Harrods, Stobarts, JCB, and Dominos? We are looking for a Junior Field Service and Installation Engineer who is keen to start their career within the telematics industry! Working closely together, you will become part of our Microlise task force within the East Midlands, and have the chance to travel and work nationwide.

This is a field-based role, providing continued support to our customers. You will support the wider team to ensure the Microlise product portfolio is fully integrated into our customers' assets; the installation, service, and support of our product suite and peripherals both in the UK and overseas. With full training provided, we are looking for someone with the right attitude and appetite to learn new skills; so whilst experience with auto electrics is advantageous, it is not essential. What will you be doing?

  • Timely visits to customer sites to undertake the installation, service, and support of Microlise products
  • Completing survey visits and identifying suitable solutions
  • Completing QA visits on Microlise products and peripherals in customer assets
  • Inventory management
  • Responsible for the upkeep and safety of your vehicle and all provided tools/equipment
  • Liaise with customers at all levels
  • Provide support to your peers and contractor resource where required
  • Ensure administration is concise, accurate, and professional
  • Adhere to all internal processes and procedures
  • Report on statistical information when required

What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge and understanding of electronics/auto electrics, or experience working with auto electrics, would be ideal
  • Experience of working to Service Level Agreements and Operational Schedules
  • Understanding of vehicle wiring diagrams and ability to interpret these would be advantageous
  • Evidence of strong customer service skills with a professional approach
  • A positive can-do attitude, with a strong desire to learn new skills
  • Passionate and positive approach to all that you do
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adjust style to relevant audiences
  • Be able to work autonomously, solve problems independently, and adhere to agreed processes
  • Take pride in what you do ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Flexibility to work nationwide including overnight stays
  • Valid Passport for travel
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Working Pattern

Our Field Engineers work shifts on a rota basis, including weekends, to suit the requirements of our customers. Full details regarding our working patterns can be discussed at the interview stage. Whilst you will be based locally to our Head Office in Nottingham, there will be regular nationwide travel, including overnight stays.
