Job Purpose

We are an accountancy firm based in Paisley looking for a young person to join our team whilst completing a Business and Administration SCQF 6 Modern Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and forward to relevant person.
  • Reception supervision, including meeting & greeting visitors and assisting with enquiries.
  • Communicate with clients by email and letter.
  • Provide administrative support to team members.
  • Cover for staff shortages due to holidays/sickness.
  • Update client details on internal systems.
  • Undertake filing and document control.
  • Photocopying.
  • Communicate internally using Microsoft Teams and email.
  • Schedule client appointments in Microsoft Outlook diary and internal systems.
  • Organise meeting rooms.
  • Assist in efficient distribution of mail, both internal and external.
  • Assist with company credit control using Xero system.
  • Prepare bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and other related accountancy matters using computerised accounting systems.
  • Input and process information into Excel spreadsheets.
  • Work on basic accounting duties as part of your development.

What will I learn?

You will learn about data protection, storing and receiving data, diary management, IT and database systems, office communication, workload management and customer service skills.

Qualifications or Qualities Required

  • National 5 qualifications, preferably including English.
  • Good IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Teams.
  • Good communication skills.
