Job Description:
Reporting to the Assembly and Test Engineering Manager you will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering Test and Support Team. As an Electronic Engineer, you will support existing product families and will assist in the introduction of the companies next generation electronic modules into production. The role will involve supporting Test and implementing automation solutions.

- Work on New projects including subjects like Robotics and automation
- Support in-house training programmes as required
- Fault finding and trouble shooting on Test Systems
- Fault finding and trouble shooting test fails.
- Support Manufacturing to ensure that production schedules, plans and customer deliveries are consistently achieved
- Be active in any yield optimisation and continual improvement activities
- Assist in identifying training needs of manufacturing operators
- Have full knowledge and understand the product quality standards relevant to the work area and ensure that all work produced conforms to these standards
- Take on other engineering duties as required and assigned
- Take on and understand ESD fundamentals and how they apply to the workplace.
There may be a requirement to deal with customers directly, producing reports and data to share with them, so clear and concise writing and presentation manner will be useful.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- HNC or HND in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. Similar Engineering disciplines may be considered.
- Ideally would have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience post qualification but also open to College and University graduates.
- Have a "hands on" approach to fault finding and working on systems and products.
- Be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, applying judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations and helping to identify solutions to nonstandard tasks and queries
- Have effective communications skills acting as a source of technical expertise to make recommendations and share knowledge and experience with others, providing guidance and support where required
- Can prioritise and organise work to deliver to agreed deadlines
- Work in a clean room environment when required
- Ensure when carrying out any job function that it is done in accordance with all Health & Safety rules and regulations
- Be PC literate including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word with the ability to produce reports and working instructions using these tools
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude being prepared to work in any department on a variety of shift patterns where skills and business needs dictate
- Ideally have some experience working on Functional Test systems such as Teradyne, Credence, LTX and Advantest etc as these skills are often transferable.
- Experienced in the use of meters, Oscilloscopes, network analysers and their limitations
- Ideally have some experience in a programming Language such as Visual Basic and C or similar.
Desirable:
- Working with Robots / robotic arms in a test environment.
- Working with handlers and / or automated handling equipment as part of a test solution.
- Working with / handling wafers in full wafer form.
