Microchip Technology is seeking a motivated and talented college graduate to join our Global Trade Compliance Team as an Associate Analyst: Import/Export Licensing. In this critical role you will help ensure that Microchip’s import and export activities and transactions comply with all applicable trade regulations and policies. You will work closely with Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team members and departments globally across the organization providing guidance and support to facilitate compliant and efficient trade operations. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates eager to launch their career in international trade and compliance.
Location: Winnersh, U.K.
Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant trade regulations for shipping controlled dual use or military products including the statutes, orders, regulations, sanctions/embargoes and directives of the United Kingdom (“UK”), European Union (“EU”), and United States (“U.S.”), including the UK Strategic Export Control List, U.S. ITAR and EAR regulations, as well as all other local country export/import requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review and release of export compliance holds for domestic and international transactions in multiple electronic systems, to include analysis relating to the applicability of license exceptions, and exemptions ensuring compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
- Determine End User Certificates/End user Statements requirements, requesting documents through internal colleagues, then review to determine completeness and acceptance.
- Perform restricted party screening checks.
- Apply for UK/EU Export Licenses when required.
- Update tracking in Excel for export licenses, shipments, and balances.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide guidance on trade compliance requirements and best practices.
- Help maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Perform general trade compliance tasks/projects at the request of the Global Trade Compliance leadership team.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- BTEC/A’ level in international business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Interest in international trade, regulations, and compliance.
- Coursework related to trade compliance is a plus.
