Overview
In this role you will drive the design, verification and integration of next-gen maXTouch controllers within Microchip’s HMID. You will collaborate with chip design and firmware teams to define CTE acquisition sequencing, RTL, and low-level software, contributing to a multitouch sensing platform used across industries. The position blends silicon, firmware and sensor work in a multidisciplinary team, with opportunities to influence product performance and bring-up. Responsibilities
- Architect, implement and validate Capacitive Touch Engine (CTE) across AFE control, DSP, and firmware
- Define RTL sequencing and digital control for AFE-driven sensing
- Verify and simulate RTL to ensure IP works within the touch system
- Develop performance-critical assembly routines for AFE and signal processing
- Participate in silicon bring-up and feature validation
- Collaborate with firmware, validation, and lab teams to root-cause AFE/RTL issues
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Physics, or related field; Master’s preferred
- 5+ years in digital/mixed-signal IC design
- Knowledge of microcontroller architecture
- Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, C
- Expertise in RTL design and verification
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Matlab or similar)
