Overview
As an Applications Engineer at Microchip, you will support maXTouch capacitive touch products through hands-on development, validation, and customer support. You’ll contribute to multi-discipline product teams, shaping next-gen touch solutions and tooling. You’ll apply AI tools to streamline workflows and deliver training to customers while ensuring quality and manufacturability. This role offers global collaboration and a strong culture focused on development and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Support maXTouch product development and customer projects across local and global teams
- Design and develop evaluation boards and test equipment for maXTouch products
- Develop new software tooling using C# and Python
- Apply AI tools to optimize daily workflows and tasks
- Advise on innovative solutions for maXTouch customers worldwide
- Troubleshoot customer designs and recommend improvements
- Assist with manufacturability and usage issues
- Deliver training on maXTouch products to customers (in-person and remote)
- Adhere to company design rules, processes and QA guidelines
Key requirements
- Experience in electronic circuit design (analog and digital)
- Experience in PCB schematic entry
- Experience in C# and/or Python software development
- Experience in embedded C
- Experience using AI tools (Claude/ChatGPT/…) in work
- Experience in multi-discipline product development lifecycle
- Ability to solder and operate lab test equipment
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of Microchip products and applications
- 0-7 years post-graduate experience
- Problem solving
- Effective communication (verbal and written)
- Ownership and self-direction
- Electronic circuit design (analog and digital)
- PCB schematic entry
