What Are We Looking For?
We\'re seeking a talented 3D Artist Team Leader to join our creative team, reporting to the Delivery Director. This role combines hands-on 3D artistry with team leadership, focusing on the production of high quality 3D models and assets that meet both project and company requirements. The ideal candidate will lead a small team of 3D artists whilst creating realistic airport environments using both commercial tools and Micro Nav\'s proprietary systems. This is an opportunity to shape the visual elements of cutting-edge aviation simulation technology whilst developing and mentoring a creative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design realistic 3D airport environments using commercial tools and Micro Nav\'s proprietary systems
Create detailed models of buildings, vehicles, aircraft, and characters using Autodesk 3ds Max
Add rich textures to models using Adobe Photoshop and Substance Painter
Import assets into the Imagine image generator for integration and testing
Maintain well-organised subversion library of 3D assets
Test and validate airport models to ensure accuracy and quality
Gather and interpret customer data to support model creation
Develop lighting panels and other specialised visual elements
Partner with developers to define and test new features in BEST and Imagine
Deliver engaging training sessions on 3D modelling for customers
Represent the modelling team at project kick-off meetings
Estimate effort for bids and proposals, keeping stakeholders informed
Lead the team by managing schedules, allocating resources, and ensuring deadlines are met

Technical Requirements & Experience:
Relevant degree-level qualification or 5+ years minimum experience as a 3D Artist
Proficiency in Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Substance Painter
Experience with QGIS and Blender
Strong time management and planning skills
Excellent attention to detail
Experience working with internal departments across mixed disciplines and personnel at all levels
Experience with geographic information system (GIS) software such as QGIS
