We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed part‑time clinical coder and administrator to join the Mickleover Surgery team. The role involves maintaining accurate patient records and supporting day‑to‑day administrative operations.
Hours: 20–30 hours per week.
Salary: £12.80 per hour.
Experience with SystmOne and clinical coding is required.
Main duties of the job:
- Process and code clinical information from secondary care and other correspondence.
- Summarise and input relevant data from patient records into the practice computer system.
- Handle recalls, new patient registrations and patient deletions.
- Provide ad‑hoc admin support to the GP and other clinical staff.
About us: Mickleover Surgery is a small GP practice serving approximately 6,500 patients. The team includes 2 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, 2 practice nurses and 1 pharmacist as part of Greater Derby PCN.
Job responsibilities:
- Document processing, coding & inputting clinical data accurately and in line with practice protocols.
- Review medical records and produce accurate summaries of patient histories using SystmOne.
- Process work from PCSE via the link.
- Action patient recalls.
- Register new patients and correct patient list entries.
- Provide admin support for safeguarding and learning disabilities.
- Carry out clerical and administrative tasks delegated by the clinical team or operations manager.
Qualifications:
- GCSE Grade C/Level 5 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
Experience:
- Experience working in a GP practice.
- Experience using SystmOne.
- Clinical coding experience.
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
