Mick George Group is currently recruiting a Recycling Management Accountant to join the Finance department.
Location: Mick George Head Office - Huntingdon
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Pay: £30,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience.

Role Purpose:
To deliver accurate and timely financial and management reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making. The Management Accountant will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and performance reporting, contributing to financial control and business efficiency for the Recycling Division.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and insightful commentary.
- Lead and support budgeting and forecasting processes across the business unit.
- Conduct cost analysis and margin reviews to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to business performance.
- Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and drive improvements.
- Maintain and enhance financial controls and procedures including Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Support inventory valuation, reconciliations, and working capital management.
- Assist with year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to system and process improvements, including ERP and reporting tools.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Recycling department director.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as required.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in a commercial or operational finance role within an industry setting.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Excel and financial systems.
- Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools is advantageous.
Desirable Attributes:
- Exposure to operational finance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with process improvement or business transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
