Here at the Mick George Group, we are currently recruiting a Transport Coordinator to join the Concrete department.

Location: Mick George Head Office – Huntingdon

Working Hours: Monday – Friday between 6am-6pm, Saturdays as Required. (Rota Basis)

Pay: To be discussed at Interview, dependant on experience.

Job Overview:

Delivering Mick George Concrete products to sites and in doing so, promote the companies image by ensuring that customer service and perception are maintained to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all drivers have the correct PPE issued to them and is maintained
  • To ensure all vehicles are not knowingly overloaded.
  • To ensure all drivers carry out vehicle checks daily and ensure all defects are recorded in the defect log and additionally any major defects reported immediately to the Concrete Director or Plant Supervisor.
  • To ensure that all drivers carry out the process. The following is completed on all conveyance notes as per instruction, in particular: times on/off site, signatures and names for materials, added water etc.
  • To ensure that all aspects of working time directive are followed for entire fleet.
  • Ensure that truck mixer fleet is cleaned and in good working order
  • To record all fuel usage and provide all receipts to transport Dept. as local procedures and ensure correct use of fuel card at all times.
  • Where required answering the telephone in a professional and courteous manner. Detailing the customers requirements accurately and ensuring their needs are met by communication with all appropriate departments (Sales, Technical etc.)
  • To comply with all aspects of the Quality Assurance Manual including complying with the distribution/control of controlled documents.
  • To maintain awareness/compliance with the companies health and safety and environmental policies and communicate perceived/known non-conformances immediately to the plant supervisor or concrete director.
  • Communicating regularly with customers, managing expectations, ETAS, and updating on delays
  • Taking and booking on orders
  • Ensure compliance within the wider framework of: The Health and Safety at Work Act, Quality Assurance to ISO 9001/2000, EN206, Restrictive Trade Practices Act, Discrimination + any other relevant legislation, All Transport rules and regulations

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Computer literate & Microsoft Office Skills
  • Flexibility to get tasks completed as needed with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under instruction whilst using own initiative where necessary.
  • Highly organised with a polite and confident telephone manner
  • Previous experience within the construction/aggregates/waste industry would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Driven and pro-active individual.
