Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance department.

Location: Mick George Head Office - Huntingdon

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Pay: Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose:

Working closely with the Group Accounting & Reporting manager as part of the management accounts team to assist in production of the monthly management accounts & support with ad-hoc duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts & financial reporting packs with input towards variance analysis and performance commentary
  • Responsible for daily journals
  • Ad-hoc analysis as and when required
  • Calculation & posting of accruals & prepayments
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly & Fortnightly payroll reconciliations
  • Intercompany process monitoring and reconciliations
  • Supporting with annual audit preparation
  • Other ad-hoc monthly, quarterly & yearly journals
  • Providing assistance and advice to internal stakeholders
  • Engage in projects & initiatives towards driving efficiencies and cost savings
  • Input towards budget & forecast submissions

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Actively studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA or AAT qualifications with desire to continue towards next level of studies
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Appropriate knowledge of using different ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps
  • Knowledge of Power BI is beneficial
  • Exposure of a similar role within a finance environment of supporting management accounts team
  • Relevant knowledge of IFRS & UK GAAP principles and concepts is beneficial
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a finance related environment; however, a degree with financial basis is beneficial
