Are you an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who loves variety, thrives on learning, and wants a role that takes you on overseas adventures? MiCiM is expanding, and we’re looking for someone driven, curious, and excited by the idea of working on major construction projects across the UK and Europe. This role is ideal for someone based in Ireland who wants the flexibility and excitement of travelling to UK or European projects.
You’ll be mentored by experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, gain hands‑on exposure from tender stage through to final account, and have the chance to grow your skills through real responsibility. You’ll play a key part in delivering high‑quality commercial support on live construction projects from start to finish. Every day is different, and you’ll be involved in:
- Tendering & Pre‑Construction
- Performing measurements and take‑offs from drawings
- Preparing pricing schedules and BOQs
- Analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Supporting value engineering and cost planning
- Project Commercial Management
- Supporting the day‑to‑day commercial running of projects and maintaining accurate records
- Managing variations, valuations, change control and project correspondence
- Using MiCiM’s cost management systems and updating commercial trackers
- Procurement
- Preparing enquiry packs and analysing tenders
- Assisting in placing subcontract orders and maintaining procurement schedules
- Change Management & Cost Control
- Supporting valuation and administration of changes and compensation events
- Preparing CVRs, commercial reports and cashflow forecasts
- Valuations & Final Accounts
- Preparing interim payment applications and supporting final account agreement with clients and subcontractors
About you:
- Studying or qualified in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
- Experience with a main contractor or relevant placement experience on live construction sites
- Understanding of construction processes, commercial principles and standard contracts
- Strong numeracy, analytical skills and excellent Excel!
