About MiChild at Teddies Day Nursery: Teddies Day Nursery, proudly rated “Good” by Ofsted, has a capacity of 56 children and has been part of the MiChild family since March 2020. Nestled within the Royal Oldham Hospital grounds, we serve both NHS and local families with dedication and warmth. Our nursery boasts four spacious, light-filled playrooms and a large enclosed outdoor area that inspires imaginative exploration, independence, and safe risk-taking.

About the role: Make a difference every day in a warm, friendly Early Years setting. We’re looking for a caring, proactive Nursery SENDCo to support children with additional needs and help them thrive in our nurturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong EYFS knowledge, experience working with children aged 0–5, and a genuine passion for inclusive early years practice.

As our SENDCo, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision across the nursery, ensuring our practice meets the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Identify children’s needs early and put meaningful, child‑centred support plans in place, for the whole setting.
  • Promote an inclusive, play‑based learning environment that reflects the EYFS framework, supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers and other professionals, maintaining positive relationships and clear communication.
  • Support and train the nursery team—including Early Years Practitioners, Level 3 Educators, and room leaders—so they feel confident meeting diverse needs.
  • Build strong links with external professionals to provide joined‑up support for families.
