Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Front Desk Associate to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a first-class guest experience at Island Lake Shooting Range in Brighton, MI. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and a smooth, professional experience from the moment they walk through the door. This customer-facing role is responsible for front desk operations, cashiering, answering phones, assisting with range bookings, and providing accurate information on products, services, and safety procedures. As a first point of contact, the ideal candidate must demonstrate discipline, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome all guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude upon arrival.
- Assist new and returning visitors with check-in, waivers, and orientation materials.
- Keep the front lobby and pro shop clean, organized, and inviting.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, providing guidance and recommending range services, memberships, and retail products.
- Address guest questions and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Promote membership programs by explaining benefits and encouraging sign-ups.
- Drive guest engagement through gift card sales, email collection, and upselling promotions.
- Support the setup and execution of in-store promotions, seasonal campaigns, and special events.
- Build relationships with returning guests and look for opportunities to enhance their experience and loyalty.
- Manage range reservations and event registrations using online booking and scheduling tools.
- Accurately use waiver and CRM systems with attention to detail.
- Respond to guest inquiries promptly and professionally via phone, email, or in person.
- Maintain and update customer records and communication logs.
- Process payments for range fees, rentals, ammunition, targets, and merchandise using the POS system.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including end-of-day financial reconciliation.
- Assist with inventory restocking, visual merchandising, and general retail upkeep.
- Ensure pricing accuracy and provide knowledgeable assistance on product features and recommendations.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized environment throughout the clubhouse, including restrooms and the pro shop.
- Communicate range rules and safety procedures clearly and respectfully.
- Share guest feedback with management to support ongoing service improvements.
- Promptly report facility maintenance needs to the appropriate team members.
- Assist with organizing, registering, and scoring for leagues and events.
- Provide on-site support during tournaments, fundraisers, and group events to ensure a smooth and enjoyable customer experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Comfortable using technology and able to learn new systems quickly
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Capable of accurately balancing a register or till
- Physically able to bend, reach, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Reliable, hard-working, and attentive to detail
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to contribute wherever needed
- Open to receiving direction and eager to learn on the job
- Basic understanding of firearm safety and range protocols (training provided)
Schedule:
This is apart-time position and we are happy to accommodate a variety of schedules. Preference will be given to candidates who have weekend availability.
Compensation:
Starting hourly wage ranges from$13.50–$15.00 per hour, based on experience, education, and technical proficiency.
