DESCRIPTION:
The ESL teacher is responsible for providing services for EL students in grades PK-12, including engaging with families, administering the required state tests (WIDA, MSTEP), and facilitating learning so that students can engage in Tier 1 instruction regularly, with the right levels of support. We are excited to engage with quality candidates who are not only results-driven but also committed to inspiring children to develop emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The overall focus is to help ESL (MLL) students increase their English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening by providing specific, pull-out or push-in instruction for secondary students to meet their individual needs.
- Coordinate instructional support for elementary ESL (MLL) students to meet their individual needs.
- Identify students who qualify for services based on state, federal, and district guidelines.
- Determine ESL (MLL) eligibility and status including entering and exiting students.
- Establish effective, positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, other support staff, and administrators.
