Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum and the vision of high-quality instruction.
- Establish a classroom culture that supports the non‑academic needs of all students in order to remove barriers that interfere with academic success.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, provide appropriate feedback on work, and use information to adjust teaching strategies according to student needs.

- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

Required
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with English (BA or BX) endorsement for grades 6‑12 or K‑8
- Completion of an approved teacher preparation program
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Language Arts, Education, or related field
- Passing score on the MTTC English exam
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging standards‑based instruction
