What sort of work? We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing IT team as a Solutions Architect in our Bristol or Exeter office. You will be responsible for the design, development, integration and ongoing optimisation of the firm’s key practice management and business systems, with a primary focus on Aderant and Intapp. The role acts as a technical solution provider to the business, delivering high quality application enhancements, automation and integrations that improve efficiency, data quality and user experience.
You will bring a strong understanding of Microsoft technologies and Artificial Intelligence, applying these where appropriate to automate processes and deliver practical, innovative solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring the business achieves maximum value from both third-party and internal applications by ensuring they are fit for purpose, meeting our needs in terms of functionality and integration points. You will also improve processes in the business to save Fee Earner time or improve back-office processes to support Fee Earners.
Duties in this role will include:
- Automation & Microsoft Technologies
- Delivering automation using Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Azure services
- Developing bespoke solutions using C#, SQL, JavaScript, Python and related technologies
- Supporting reporting, data warehousing and analytics requirements
- Artificial Intelligence & Innovation
- Applying practical understanding of AI and LLM-based solutions to improve business processes
- Introducing AI-enabled capabilities within agreed governance and compliance frameworks
- Identifying opportunities where AI or automation can deliver measurable business value
- Practice Management & Application Development
- Designing, developing and enhancing solutions with Aderant and Intapp aligned to business requirements
- Building and maintaining integrations between core systems and third-party platforms
- Reviewing existing configurations and customisations, recommending and delivering improvements
- Ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, well-documented and supportable
- Collaboration & Delivery
- Working closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers and stakeholders
- Providing technical leadership through the full solution lifecycle and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Azure
- Good working understanding of Artificial Intelligence
- Strong experience in developing enterprise applications, ideally including Aderant and/or Intapp
- Proven delivery of integrations, automation and bespoke solutions
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Experience in a professional services or legal environment is desirable together with knowledge of BI, reporting and data warehousing solutions
