Michelle Denny Recruitment has been appointed by TGL in the recruitment of a Vehicle Processing Centre Manager (Operations) for its Mildenhall site. This is a hands-on management role with broad responsibility across people, logistics, compliance, contractors and operational performance. Reporting directly to both UK leadership and European HQ, you'll play a key role in ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the operation whilst maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
The Role
- You'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the Vehicle Processing Centre, leading a small team and ensuring customer commitments are delivered on time and to the required standards.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, supporting and developing a small operational team
- Managing recruitment, training and performance
- Coordinating vehicle shipments and delivery schedules
- Arranging container bookings and transport to port
- Working with customer representatives to meet contractual requirements
- Managing third-party transport providers and contractors
- Maintaining quality standards, audit performance and operational compliance
- Monitoring costs, processing invoices and securing competitive transport rates
- Producing operational reports for UK management and European HQ
About You
You may already be managing an operation, warehouse, transport function or logistics team, or perhaps you're a supervisor or team leader ready to step into a broader management position. Experience within logistics, warehousing, transport, manufacturing or operations would be highly beneficial. Bonded warehouse experience would be welcomed but is by no means essential. More important is your ability to lead people, organise priorities, solve problems and keep a busy operation running smoothly. You'll also bring:
