AAT Level 4 qualified and ready for accounting work with more variety and more client contact? I'm recruiting an Accounts Assistant for an accountancy practice in Diss. You'll work with different businesses, build on your existing accounting skills and develop experience in accounts preparation, VAT and client relationships. Previous practice experience is helpful, but it isn't essential. If you gained your experience in industry and want to make the move into practice, I'd be pleased to hear from you. You must already have completed AAT Level 4 for this position.
What you'll be doing as an Accounts Assistant:
- Helping prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Processing bookkeeping transactions and reconciling accounts.
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting clients with digital records.
- Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting.
- Speaking with clients to gather information and answer queries.
- Using accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CCH.
What you'll bring:
Alongside completed AAT Level 4, you'll have a sound foundation in accounting and bookkeeping, good Excel skills and a careful, organised approach. You'll also enjoy working with people and be keen to keep developing your technical skills.
Training and development:
You'll have guidance from senior colleagues as you build experience in accounts preparation, VAT returns and working directly with clients. Training and mentoring will help you learn the practices systems and work across different types of business, with support available if you decide to pursue further professional qualifications. It's a chance to keep progressing after AAT Level 4, rather than treating qualification as the finish line.
What's on offer:
Salary is up to £30,000 depending on experience. The package includes training, mentoring and support for further study, 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Medicash, life assurance, income protection and paid professional subscriptions.
