  • We're working with

Angela's Coffee Lounge, part of John Doe , to find an experienced Hospitality General Manager to lead this busy and much-loved local business in Diss.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong commercial experience gained within hospitality, restaurants, food and beverage, garden centre hospitality, farm shops, hotels or another busy food-led operation.

Angela's already has a loyal customer base, a strong local reputation and a team that cares.

What it needs now is someone who can bring more commercial focus, structure and consistency to the day-to-day operation, without losing the warmth that makes it what it is.

You'll have real autonomy across the whole business: people, rotas, purchasing, margins, waste, service standards and customer experience.

You'll understand the numbers behind the operation, spot where things could work better and have the confidence to make those changes happen.

Just as importantly, you'll know how to bring the team with you. This is about making a good business work better, not changing everything that customers already love about it.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation
  • Leading, supporting and developing the team, with clear expectations and accountability
  • Managing staffing levels, rotas and labour costs
  • Monitoring sales, margins and other key performance measures
  • Reviewing purchasing, stock control, pricing and supplier arrangements
  • Reducing waste and identifying opportunities to improve profitability
  • Maintaining high standards of food, drink, service and presentation
  • Ensuring food safety, health and safety and other compliance requirements are met
  • Handling customer feedback and maintaining an excellent customer experience
  • Providing clear operational and financial reporting to the owners
  • Identifying and implementing practical improvements across the business
  • What you'll bring
  • Proven management experience within hospitality, restaurants, food and beverage, food-led retail or another busy customer-facing operation
  • Strong people leadership and team development experience
  • Good commercial awareness, including labour costs, margins, cost control and profitability
  • Confidence using figures, KPIs and performance information to make decisions
  • Experience managing operational standards and customer experience
  • A practical, organised and hands-on management style
  • The confidence to introduce change thoughtfully and positively
  • A coffee shop background isn't essential. We'd be equally interested in experienced

General Managers, Restaurant Managers, Hospitality Managers, Food & Beverage Managers or Operations Managers who can demonstrate strong commercial and people leadership.

  • What's on offer
  • £38,000 salary, negotiable depending on experience
  • Profit-related bonus
  • Full-time, permanent position, five days per week including Saturdays
  • 30 days' annual leave
  • Genuine autonomy to shape and improve the operation
  • The backing of John Doe, a successful local family business

If you're an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys the commercial side of running a business just as much as the people and customer side, we'd be very happy to hear from you.
