Make a real impact on workplace health at Michelin. Protecting people is just as important as producing world class products. We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Hygiene & SHE Technician to play a key role in protecting employee health by identifying, assessing and controlling occupational health risks at our Stoke on Trent manufacturing site.
This is a hands-on, site-based role with strong collaboration across operations and the SHE team and would suit someone who already understands industrial environments and wants to apply their expertise where it truly matters.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and maintaining hygiene risk assessments across chemical, physical and biological hazards
- Monitoring occupational exposures such as noise, vibration, air quality, EMF and chemicals
- Providing expert input during process or equipment changes to ensure safe, hygienic design
- Supporting incident investigations, audits and regulatory compliance activities
- Contributing to safety, environmental and wider SHE activities where required
This role suits someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, working with others to embed good practice and turn data into practical action.
Who we’re looking for:
This role is suited to professionals with established occupational hygiene experience in an operational or manufacturing environment.
You’ll bring:
- BOHS modules (W501, W503, W507) or be actively working towards higher professional recognition
- Working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- Experience applying COSHH principles beyond desk-based assessment
- Proven experience in occupational hygiene and health & safety within an operational or industrial setting
- Confidence interpreting exposure data and producing clear, credible reports
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365 and Excel
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 (ISO 14001 is a plus)

About You:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- BOHS certificates (W501, W503, W507) or working towards a higher professional level.
- Experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health within an operational or industrial setting.
- Strong Microsoft 365 and Excel skills.
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of occupational exposure controls and workplace hygiene strategies.
- Ability to analyse data and produce clear technical reports.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001; ISO 14001 knowledge beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Personal Qualities:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Organized, adaptable and able to prioritize effectively.
- A collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
