The Senior Cloud Engineer will be part of the CxS Cloud function within the DAP team at MCF. You will be the architectural backbone and automation lead for our multi-cloud ecosystem. You are engineering highly resilient, scalable, and automated environments across Azure and AWS. You will utilize Infrastructure as Code methods developing and maintaining complex, modular infrastructure using Terraform to ensure consistency across Azure and AWS environments. Partnering with Architectural, Development and DevOps teams you will take a lead with projects and ensure that delivery is achieved on time and with quality. Acting as an expert in your field you will also look to support other members of the DAP team with deployments and mentoring to share knowledge and promote empowerment. Assisting with on premise environments and future cloud migration strategies and monitoring solutions. Utilizing change management, you will ensure high quality documentation is always detailed ensuring all modifications are compliant and any risks are assessed.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING:
- Multi‑Cloud Engineering: Serve as the architectural lead for Azure and AWS, building resilient, scalable, and automated cloud environments.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain complex, modular infrastructure exclusively using Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins to ensure cross‑platform consistency.
- Collaborative Leadership: Partner with Architecture, Development, and DevOps teams to drive project delivery with a focus on high quality and strict timelines.
- Mentorship & Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert, supporting the wider DAP team through technical deployment assistance and knowledge sharing.
- Hybrid Cloud: Support existing on‑premises environments (VMWare, Linux, Windows) while contributing towards future cloud migration strategies and integrated monitoring solutions (PRTG/Grafana).
- Governance & Documentation: Execute strict Change Management protocols, ensuring all infrastructure modifications are risk‑assessed, compliant, and thoroughly documented (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Supporting changes out of hours when required.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE:
- Multi Cloud Proficiency – 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise grade environments in both Azure and AWS (VM, Azure Storage, AKS, EC2, S3, Lambda).
- Networking and Security – Deep Understanding of VNET/VPC peering, ExpressRoute, Azure Premium Firewall, NSGs/Security Groups, DNS and IAM Policy least‑Privilege Models.
- Infrastructure as Code – Expert level in Terraform, as well as configuration management using Ansible.
- API Management – Hands on experience with Gravtiee to manage API Gateways, rate limiting and developer portals.
- Event Streaming – Experience managing or integrating with Confluent Cloud or Apache Kafka.
- Operational experience with on premise environments (VMWARE, Linux, Windows).
- Experience with infrastructure and platform monitoring tools, including PRTG, Nagios, cloud‑native monitoring solutions, and Grafana.
- Experience with service management and change management processes, using platforms such as JIRA.
- Ability to produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, with demonstrable examples.
- Experience producing clear, detailed operational and performance reporting for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
