As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will design, support, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure—primarily within Microsoft Azure—while collaborating closely with Security, Operations, and cross‑functional technical teams. You will manage core cloud services, support migrations from on‑prem to cloud environments, maintain Windows server infrastructure, and implement best practices around resilience, security, and performance.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING:

  • Staying abreast of cloud technologies and Azure Best Practices.
  • Working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to support cloud and on‑prem operations.
  • Creating and maintaining high‑quality technical documentation.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing Azure infrastructure including VMs, networks, and storage.
  • Ensuring Azure security through alignment with the Security team.
  • Supporting cloud migrations and providing ongoing technical support.
  • Monitoring cloud resources (e.g., Azure Monitor) to optimise performance and control cost.
  • Implementing high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and backup policies.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Azure services and cloud infrastructure.
  • Managing endpoints with Microsoft Intune.
  • Managing OS and application patching through Azure Update Manager.
  • Automating new device setup using Windows Autopilot and managing mobile devices.
  • Creating and enforcing compliance policies and configuration profiles for endpoints.
  • Packaging and distributing software to end‑users across various platforms.
  • Acting as Level 3 support for the AWS-based SCV phone system.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE:

  • Background in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
  • Proficiency with Azure services: Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, Identity, and Monitoring.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN).
  • Solid grasp of cloud security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.
  • Ability to organise technical information into documentation and present it to relevant stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on AWS cloud experience (particularly SCV).
  • Understanding of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Desire to achieve Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑900).
