Micheldever Tyres is looking for a customer focused Transport Coordinator, to provide an effective and efficient Transport Management facility at a local level, ensuring compliance with all current and relevant transport legislation and Safe Systems of Work. You will be required to support the Transport Manager with the implementation of the Company’s Standard Operational Policies, Procedures and Practices.
Location: Winnall, Winchester
Hours: Monday to Friday 5am-2pm, Saturdays as and when required
Must have: Full UK Driving Licence

About our role:
- Support and oversee daily administration and operational tasks within the transport office
- Act as a local contact for all transport/driver requirements and enquiries
- Ensure the local fleet is operated within the requirements of the operator’s licence and good working practice and report on all non-conformities as they arise
- Assist with the upkeep of standard MTS administration systems that comply with current legislation
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive vehicle and driver records are maintained locally
- Act as a contact point for all transport needs as regards to the Sales Teams
- Deputise for the Assistant Transport Manager as and when required
- Ensure Customer Collections from site are dealt with promptly, politely and efficiently
- Ensure effective delivery of excellent Customer Service at all levels reflecting a professional corporate image
- Ensure a pro-active approach to Customer Service is taken throughout the site
- Ensure all cash collections are processed in line with company procedures
About you:
- Experience in a transport/fleet management role within a logistical environment
- Experienced in all aspects of transport management including ‘O’ licence and tachograph
- Good staffing levels/planning skills
- A strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
