The Social Media Manager is a senior specialist role responsible for creating, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving the end‑to‑end social media strategy for Micheldever Tyre Services, Protyre, and key tyre brands across all Group platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube). Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing, this role drives brand awareness, customer engagement, and advocacy to support significant social‑influenced revenue.
The role includes building business cases for new opportunities, driving brand awareness and consideration for the Group’s brands, and executing campaigns that increase traffic to both digital channels and physical stores. The job holder owns the full social media life‑cycle, from content planning and platform optimisation to community management and performance reporting, and is accountable for delivering increased engagement, follower growth and enhanced ROI across all platforms.
About the Role & About You
We’re looking for an innovative, data‑driven Social Media Manager to take full ownership of our end‑to‑end social media strategy across multiple brands — including Micheldever Tyre Services, Protyre, and our house tyre brands (Falken, Dunlop, Sumitomo). In this role, you’ll lead social strategy, content planning, paid social management, agency oversight, and performance optimisation. You’ll combine creativity with commercial focus to drive brand awareness, online traffic, community engagement and in‑store impact across a multi‑brand, multi‑channel ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Create, Implement, and Continuously Improve End‑to‑End Social Media Strategy: Lead and continuously improve the social media roadmap across organic content, paid social, influencer activity, and community management. Conduct regular strategy reviews using platform analytics, Sprout Social, and Google Analytics.
- Procure and Manage Agency Partners: Lead procurement for social media agencies (content, creative, paid social, community management). Draft RFPs, assess proposals, negotiate performance‑based contracts, and hold partners to clear KPIs (e.g., CPE, EMV, conversion rate).
- Act as Internal SME and Stay Current with Trends: Act as the company‑wide expert on social media, delivering training, writing playbooks, and guiding Brand Managers on best practice. Stay ahead of platform updates, trends, new formats, emerging technologies (e.g., AR, live shopping), and cross‑industry innovations.
- Leverage Expertise to Drive Strategy and Provide Insights: Identify new opportunities across platforms, formats, and partnerships. Build robust business cases with ROI forecasts, resource needs, and risk assessments to secure investment in high‑potential initiatives.
- Drive Brand Awareness & Consideration for MTS, Protyre, and House Brands: Drive visibility and brand preference for the group’s brands through branded content series, hashtag strategies, paid campaigns, and influencer partnerships.
- Drive Digital Activity That Increases Traffic to Physical Stores: Design and execute geo‑targeted and location‑based campaigns to boost footfall into Protyre centres and independent garages. Use UTM tracking, store visit attribution, and in‑store QR codes to measure digital‑to‑store conversions.
- Drive Online Traffic Through Social Media: Create high‑engagement organic and paid social activity designed to increase traffic to Protyre.co.uk, TyreClick, and other digital assets. Optimize content and campaigns based on session data, CTR, conversion funnels, and revenue contribution.
- Evaluate ROI and Drive Continuous Improvement: Develop a performance reporting framework using Sprout Social and Looker Studio. Evaluate ROI, reallocate budgets, and scale high‑performing content and campaigns. Run structured A/B tests to optimise creative, messaging, formats, and posting schedules.
- Foster High‑Support, High‑Challenge Team Environment: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Web Content Executive, Campaign Executive, Brand Managers). Foster a growth‑focused, accountable culture through coaching, feedback, best‑practice sharing, and collaborative working.
- Influence and Report: Ensure adherence to platform policies, ASA guidelines, GDPR/PECR, and disclosure rules for sponsored content. Manage approval workflows and community management protocols to protect the brand.
- Coordinate and Amplify Broader Marketing Activity: Work with marketing, retail, and wholesale teams to amplify key campaigns, events, promotions and product launches across social channels. Ensure social maximises visibility, engagement, and business impact.
- Select Optimal Channel, Creative, and Campaign Treatment: Use audience insights and campaign objectives to determine the right platforms, formats, creative styles, and optimisation settings (e.g., reach vs. engagement vs. traffic). Tailor activity by audience demographics and behavioural segments.

- Strong understanding of paid social platforms (Meta, TikTok, X, YouTube) and audience optimisation.
- Ability to balance creativity with data‑driven decision‑making.

- Strong analytical skills with experience in Sprout Social, native analytics, and GA/UTM tracking.

Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) was founded in 1972 as a part‑time venture providing car servicing and tyres. Today, the group is the fastest growing wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres in the UK, selling six million tyres nationwide (20 percent of the total UK market) and employing approximately 2,100 employees company‑wide.
