Protyre is seeking a skilled Motorcycle MOT Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on motorcycles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. During non-peak motorcycle seasons, assist with tyre fitting, tyre repairs and service and repair of cars and light commercial vehicles.

About the role:

  • Carry out Motorcycle MOT testing in accordance with VOSA.
  • Carry out inspections and tests on motorcycles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
  • Carry out general motorcycle servicing and repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Perform repairs on engines, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Replace worn or defective parts with new components.
  • Carry out base level mechanical servicing of cars and light commercial vehicles as required
  • Ensure the work completed on each motorcycle or vehicle is carried out safely and to a high standard.

About you:

  • Valid MOT Tester Certificate
  • Full current UK Motorcycle Licence
  • Level 3 Certificate in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • A skilled mechanic with at least 4 years\' full-time employment servicing and repairs
  • An understanding of motorcycle MOT testing requirements is essential to meet the necessary safety standards.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
  • A thorough understanding of basic Motorcycle vehicle design, function, and location of parts.
  • Experienced in carrying out MOT tests for a variety of makes and models of motorcycles
  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in motorcycle maintenance or repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
