Micheldever Tyres is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Stock Shift Supervisor with excellent work ethic to join our team. Reporting to the Shift Manager/Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the shift operation through a team of warehouse operatives and/or drivers. You will be responsible for implementing the Companies Standard Operational Policies, Procedures and Practices including Health and Safety.

As a support to the Shift Manager/Operations Manager, you will take a proactive approach to drive the shift forward with new initiatives, whilst creating a positive working environment and culture for team members.

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 07:00-16:00

Must have: Warehouse / Logistics experience, with proven leadership skills. Please be aware heavy lifting is involved.

Training Opportunities: Micheldever has strong Development Routes Programme and general learning on health and safety and other warehouse/logistics related topics.

About the role:

  • Creating daily and weekly plans as required
  • Drive efficiencies, whilst improving service levels
  • Accountable for ensuring all team members comply with all aspects of Legal and Company defined legislations and policies
  • Monitoring and control of process accuracy
  • Promote and drive company initiatives effectively
  • Support the Shift Manager/Operations Manager to maximise stock levels and product availability
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure legal compliance
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to excellent Customer Service

About You:

  • Demonstratable leadership skills
  • Experience of Health & Safety management in a similar environment
  • Experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Previous warehouse operations experience logistics operations preferred
  • Experience of creating operational plans ideal but not essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
