Plan, coordinate and host events (including children's birthday parties) in a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for customers. Offer friendly customer service by assisting customers in shopping and finding what they are looking for. Ensure all customers check out quickly and amicably. Perform operational tasks including unloading truck deliveries and tasks related to merchandise presentation and maintaining store organisation standards as needed to uphold our brand promises.
Event Coordinator
- Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children's birthday parties and other crafting classes or events.
- Engage with customers of all ages, from 4 years to over 94 years, creating a fun and creative environment.
- Demonstrate craft projects and provide instructions to participants, paint faces, and lead other activities.
- Prepare and set up additions for birthday parties such as goodie bags, balloons, etc., in accordance with company standards.
- Inform customers and in-store team members about events.
- Perform administrative tasks such as responding to emails, making calls, and filling out documents as needed.
- Adjust plans and events based on feedback and customer needs.
- Create contingency plans or emergency plans to execute as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction during scheduled events.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness and safety.
- Set up, tidy, and clean before and after each event.
Customer Service
- Assist customers in shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
- Offer a quick and friendly experience at checkout.
- Educate customers about the benefits of the Rewards program and private label credit card and perform sign-ups.
- Keep customers informed about the Voice of Customer (VoC) survey.
- Assist with omnichannel processes, including buy online, pick up in-store (BOPIS) and shipped orders from the store.
- Participate in truck unloading processes, filling displays, and planogram (POG) tasks.
- Perform stocking and merchandise management tasks.
- Carry out in-store stock optimisation tasks (OSEM) and setups for weekly sales as assigned.
- Support loss prevention and safety programmes.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company programmes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements, implementing company policies and standards.
- Interact with others in an acceptable and respectful manner, remaining positive and respectful even in difficult situations, promoting commitment to the company's vision and values, projecting a positive image, and serving as a role model for other team members.
- Be trained for sales and production in custom framing.
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities, including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining restroom cleanliness.
