Michaela Community School is an exciting and successful free school that opened in September 2014 in Wembley and is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The school emphasises a traditional ethos, high standards, and a mastery curriculum across year groups. We advertise all year round to find candidates who are best suited to our approach.

Responsibilities

  • Teach English across Year 7 through Year 13, with the possibility to teach a range of year groups depending on the candidate’s strengths.
  • Deliver a mastery curriculum, focusing on depth over breadth and engaging with challenging texts from the start of Year 7.
  • Promote reading for all pupils and support students from varied backgrounds to access classic and notable literature.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pupils and collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Operate within our behaviour systems to create a productive learning environment and to try approaches that work best for your pupils.
  • Own your classroom, foster authentic teacher–pupil relationships, and contribute to school culture and development.
  • Contribute to the school community, with opportunities for promotion and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Applications welcome from unqualified candidates, ECTs, and more experienced teachers who are able to obtain QTS.
  • Willingness to teach across key stages, including potential Year 7 to Year 13 responsibilities.
