Client: With a portfolio of projects in the UK, the client is recognised as a market leading building services contractor. They are renowned for large fit out and new build projects in commercial office, data centre and public sectors. Clients include major law and financial companies, as well as large blue chip main contractors. After a successful year, they are now looking to increase turnover to £380M, consequently they are looking to expand their operations team.

Role: Senior Electrical Project Manager – Hertfordshire – Salary £105,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Full Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus. The project is a major data centre based in Hertfordshire.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Tender review/validation
  • Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
  • Value Engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
  • Health & Safety management (RAMs)
  • Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Surveyor
  • Management of variations
  • Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
  • Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

The ideal candidate:

  • Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5M within your own discipline
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
  • Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace
  • The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
