Freelance Snr Quantity Surveyor | Tier 1 Contractor

Location: City of London

Rate: £450–£525 per day (DOE) | Outside IR35 / Limited Company

Start: Immediate

Contract: Initial 6 months, likely extension (project runs through Summer 2027)

A well-established commercial construction and fit-out contractor is delivering a £60m CAT A / CAT B office “cut-and-carve” project in Central London and is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the on-site commercial team.

The Role

  • Managing subcontractor packages from procurement to final account
  • Measuring, pricing, and administering variations, including structural alterations and additional client requests
  • Preparing valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
  • Supporting CVRs and commercial reporting
  • Assisting the site team in a fast-paced, live project environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on similar commercial fit-out or design-and-build projects
  • Background with Tier One or Two main contractors
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial fit-outs, structural facades, and CAT A/B office schemes
  • Experienced in managing subcontractors and commercial processes independently
  • Comfortable handling large-scale projects (£60m+) with complex site discoveries
