Freelance Quantity Surveyor | Commercial Fit-Out
Location: Central London
Rate: £350 - £440 per day (DOE)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Initially 6 months likely extension (project runs through to Summer 2027)
A well-established commercial construction and fit-out contractor is delivering a £60m CAT A / CAT B office “cut-and-carve” project in Central London and is seeking an experienced freelance Project level Quantity Surveyor to join the on-site commercial team.
The Role
- Managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account
- Designing and pricing discovered variations on site, including structural alterations and additional client requirements
- Administering variations and managing a high volume of change
- Preparing valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
- Assisting with CVRs and commercial reporting
- Supporting the site team on a live, fast-paced project
Requirements
- Proven experience as a project Quantity Surveyor on similar schemes
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial fit-outs, structural facades, and office CAT A / B projects
- Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes independently
- Ability to work on large-scale design-and-build projects (£60m+), handling complex site discoveries
- Confident operating on live, fast-paced construction sites
