Salary: £60,000 - £85,000 + Package

Location: London

Client: We are working on behalf a specialist MEP contractor who have operated within the London market for more than 20+ years. With an annual turnover in excess of £40m and on target to reach £50m for 2026, they specialise within the commercial, education and healthcare sectors; undertaking a mixture of new build, fit out and refurbishment projects. Boasting a robust balance sheet and an established client base, they have cemented themselves as a key MEP supplier for multiple London contractors. Typically, their projects are between £5m-£15m MEP value. They have aims to continue growing and since, they have been winning projects and taken on new clients.

THE ROLE: Working in the estimating department, the Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for the handling of new tender enquiries, liaising with professional teams/principal contractors, mid/post bid tender interviews, leading the pricing of mechanical services. They’re looking for a Mechanical Estimator who is keen on exploring a range of projects, sectors and work their way up with a company who offers long-term progression into senior roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Organise site surveys, understanding survey requirements and submission method
  • Attend tender interviews with client team and principal contractor
  • Liaise with internal departments such as commercial, operations and design to gather key information for the tender enquiry
  • Understand the employer’s requirement/ tender documents and specification to dispatch enquires to subcontractors, specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assess suitability of subcontractor quotes and compliance with tender document, achieving best value at tender stage.
  • Apply value engineering methods.
  • Undertake take-offs of tender drawings and input data into estimation software
  • Ensure all elements of tender are accounted for prior to the tender being submitted.
  • Stipulate cost reports taking into consideration required mark-up.
  • Upon tender success lead tender handover meeting with operations and commercial teams, providing ongoing assistance throughout the project duration.
