We’re working with a well-established, privately owned mechanical contractor delivering a steady pipeline of smaller-scale projects across commercial and specialist sectors. This is a business that deliberately doesn’t work with main contractors, values autonomy on site, and understands that good people don’t need micromanaging or rigid 8–5 structures to perform.
If you’re an experienced Mechanical Supervisor looking for variety, flexibility, and sensible project sizes, this could be a refreshing move.
The Role
As Mechanical Site Supervisor, you’ll take full ownership of mechanical works on projects typically ranging from £50k to £1m. You’ll be the key link between site and project management, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You’ll be trusted to:
- Run day-to-day mechanical site operations
- Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour
- Ensure quality, safety, and programme compliance
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover
- Act as the main on-site point of contact
This is a hands-on role with real autonomy - you’re there to manage, not firefight.
What Makes This Different:
- No main contractors
- Flexible approach to working hours - not a rigid 8–5 culture
- Manageable project values with less politics and pressure
- Direct communication and short decision-making chains
- A business that understands construction is about people, not just programmes
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience supervising mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, building services)
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and site coordination
- A calm, organised approach to managing people and priorities
- Commitment to quality, safety, and getting things right first time
Package & Benefits
- Competitive salary
- Company van & fuel card
- Pension scheme
- Bonus structure
- Long-term stability with consistent project flow
If you’re a Mechanical Supervisor who enjoys running jobs properly, values flexibility, and wants to step away from the pressures of large contractor environments, this role is well worth a conversation.
